Please email in and follow up with a phone call, however if you are in the area, by all means knock on the door and we will try and help as best we can. We always have someone on hand to help guide you through the process at the shop. If you are coming in person, it is always worth ringing first and if we think you need it we'll book a consultation with one of our artists. We do need to see images of the kind of thing you are after so its always helpful if you can email them in with an idea of size in cms or inches and where the tattoo is going on your body. Remember that if you email we may take longer to respond, sometimes up to a week and unfortunately computers and servers do sometimes let us down so always follow up with a phone call. We cannot check availability or book you in over email.
Once you've booked in your appointment your artist will take care of your design work and preparation. Your job is to turn up clean, sober and well rested in plenty of time for your allotted slot. If you have an afternoon appointment, you can always ring ahead to check if your artist is running a bit behind or if they would like you in earlier.Tattooing is not a science it is an art. We cannot therefore always be held to time constraints, although we do our best not to keep you waiting around unduly.
Pain is very subjective and each person experiences their tattoo in a different way.In general we can assure you, it is more of a discomfort than scream out loud pain and if you pay attention to your artists instructions and you are in a relaxed frame of mind it will pass more swiftly and in some cases can even prove enjoyable.
We are essentially an appointment based studio but we are happy to do walk-ins and if an artist is free and you happen to drop in we will endeavour to accommodate you, however to get the best results and ultimate experience we would always recommend you making an appointment.
Each tattoo is individual and tailored to each client so it is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string. However, when you book in we always try to price your piece and work to the budget agreed. We pride ourselves on providing a first class service that remains within reach of most peoples budgets.
You need to leave a deposit to secure your appointment. This is non refundable so no, you won't get it back but it will be deducted from the final cost of your tattoo. You can change your appointment without loosing your appointment as long as you call the shop and give us a minimum of 48 hours notice (2 working days). If you cancel your appointment all together or do not give us enough notice, your deposit will NOT be refunded. You need to call the shop or make any changes to appointments in person. We cannot accept any changes via email.
In England, the law clearly states you must be 18 to be tattooed. We will ask for original and in date ID. Please have something to hand - we accept provisional or full driving licenses and passports. There is no such thing as parental consent in this context, so please don't drag your parents along to ask on your behalf - it's a photo ID or no tattoo.
We ask you come alone to your tattoo appointment. We don't recommend bringing groups of friends along in any case. They can be a distraction and disruptive to the process and in any case, will not be allowed into the tattooing area and there is not a lot to keep you entertained in the waiting area.
No children are allowed in the studio. You must be over 18 to enter the studio.
Despite our reputation we try and keep our lists short so, generally you can get in within a few weeks and often much sooner. It really depends on what you want and who you wish to do it, but in any case just pick up the phone and ask. We tend to be quieter in the colder months.
Absolutely not!! If you turn up for an appointment in any way intoxicated, we will refuse to tattoo you and you will lose your deposit.
All our artists work in multiple styles but by looking at their portfolios and listening to recommendations from the reception staff we will make sure you are matched perfectly with the artist that will best fulfil your needs.
We like you to have a good idea of what you want and it helps to put together a scrap book or mood board of images to help show us the direction you want to take. Our artists will draw and design on your behalf and the cost of this is absorbed into your tattoo, however do not treat them as an etcha sketch; they are very busy and need time to rest too. The artists will only start working on your design once you have placed a deposit to secure an appointment.
Although it is possible to tattoo anywhere on the body, it is not advisable to get very visible work done if you have few or no tattoos. Our artists will advise you on this and if they are not comfortable with either your motivation or understanding they may refuse to tattoo you. We will not tattoo hands or necks without a face to face consultation and we will not tattoo these areas if you do not already have lots of visible tattoos such as full sleeves for example. We are really happy to discuss all of this with you if you would like to pop in for a chat.
You will be given clear printed after care instructions when you arrive for your tattoo. The artist will go through it all again at the end as there are minor variations to the basic instructions and it is important to follow the artist's advice carefully.
